Today is Earth Day! It's a day that we try to take into consideration how we affect our planet and consider new ideas to help us leave a smaller "carbon footprint".
While a lot of people planted trees this weekend, we had to have a stand of maple trees cut down. They were beautiful, but infringing on our neighbor's garage. So it was decided that they had to go. Our neighbor Eugene did a great job. I tried my best to help, but mom thought that it would be best if I stayed out of the way while the power tools were in use, BOL! The stumps needed to be dealt with next. Mom keeps an organic veggie garden, so chemical solutions were off the list. Eugene did a little detective work and found out that if you drilled holes in the stumps and poured Epson Salts in, followed by water, the trunks would disolve from the inside out, without using dangerous chemicals.
So, that's our plan! We'll keep you posted on the progress!
So once the job was done, I was sure to thank Eugene!
And thank you fur stopping by!
I can tell you first pawed that the Epson Salt thing really does work. Happy Earth Day!
