The Tuesday's Tails Blog hop features shelter pets, all waiting for their forever homes. Please consider featuring a cat, dog or any pet at your local shelter on your blog and join the hop! Sharing these friends will certainly improve their chances of being adopted!
Thanks Carma Poodale for hosting this week's hop!
First the good news! Charlotte, the Coonhound we featured in last week's blog hop has found her furever family! Baroooo!
So, here's hoping that this week all of the pets on the Tuesday's Tails Hop have the same good luck!
This week we'd like you to meet Sonny, as sweet coonhound/lab mix, being fostered by Homeless Hearts Dog Rescue in Somerset, NJ.
Quoting from Sonny's page:
"Poor, sweet Sonny really needs a break--he’s had a rough life. Sonny weighs 61 lbs and is a lab/coonhound mix. His 90 year old owner has just gone into a nursing home with an infected, inoperable hole in his heart. Completely overwhelmed by his situation, he planned to just put sweet Sonny down but, thankfully, a kind-hearted neighbor couldn’t see that happen and took him into temporary foster care with her and her two dogs in Manhattan.
"Here is Sonny’s story: Poor Sonny was shot as a baby and left on the side of the road in Georgia. He had to have his left rear leg amputated as a result of the gun-shot wound and was then adopted by his 90 year old owner as a pup. Although he is missing a rear leg, that doesn't slow him down and he gets around just fine. Don’t mistake Sonny’s 3-legged stature for special-needs--he’s just special!
"According to his vet and medical records, Sonny is very healthy. He’s 5 - 7 years old, neutered, housebroken and up to date on his shots."

Sonny gets along with other dogs and people. His foster says that he's loves long walks and is very relaxed in her apartment.
So, if you have room in your heart and home for this sweetheart, please email the Homeless Hearts Dog Rescue at Gone2TheDawgz@yahoo.com and request an application for adoption.

Awww, Sonny has quite a story to tell. Poor guy has been through a lot. I sure hope he can find a new family soon to give him all the love he deserves. SO glad that the neighbor stepped in to save him!

ReplyDeleteI can speak from experience here - "special needs" companions are very special indeed. I have a special needs boy and I couldn't have asked for a more loving and sweet fur baby! :)
I really hope he finds a wonderful home soon. He's had a rough life, and he deserves a loving and comfortable forever home.
Insure hope that Sonny catches that much needed break really soon, he is one handsome dude. Hooray for Miss Charlotte!
