Hi Buddies!

This week, we'd like to introduce you to a real sweetie, currently being taken care of by Friends of Linden Animals, in Linden, NJ.

Meet Finbar! Just look at those eyes! 

     Finbar was adopted from FOLAS as a puppy, but his family couldn't keep him any longer, so he's looking for a new home. He has one blue and one brown eye and as you can see, is quite handsome!

     He's four years old, and still has a lot of energy. He knows his basic commands and loves to please. Finbar would love a big yard and would be a great addition to a family with older children. He's calm and not much of a barker either!

Thankful Weekend!

Wow buddies! Last week, Dogs 'n Pawz, the sponsors of the weekly Tuesday's Tails Blog Hop presented us with the Versatile Blogger Award! We are so very honored to receive this!

       As a recipient of the Award, we're asked to share seven things about ourselves, so here goes everything (just about) that you could know about us!

• Mom often thinks she should have nicknamed me "Velcro" 'cause I usually stick close by her. Even when I'm taking a nap, I like to keep a paw (or my face) on her!
• We both love going for car rides, to the doggy daycare, the dog park or any place that's fun. But I know right away if we're headed towards the *VET*. Mom doesn't know how I do it, even when she takes a different route.
• We're hoping to have a few backyard chickens by next Spring if mom gets her way (& she usually does, BOL)!
• I LOVE my after dinner treat. I've been known to try to skip dinner, just to get to the treat. Now mom knows to check my dish.
• I love to give "kisses and nips". Ever since I was a puppy, that's how I like to greet my human pals. It's just a quick lick on your nose followed by a little nibble!
• When I'm running in my dreams, only my back legs move. Mom says that I'm "River Dancing" in my sleep!
• I'm finally getting used to my kitty fur sibs, Wren & Sparrow…. Although Sparrow still freaks me out sometimes with her Ninja ways!

This week we'd like you to meet Rocky!

     The shelter believes that he is a mix of maybe Border Collie/Australian Shepherd/Boxer/Corgi. He was found as a stray in Union, NJ, and now he's looking for his new home.  Rocky is believed to be about 1 year old.  According to his bio, he sounds a lot like me "very sweet, energetic and playful"! He walks well on a leash and gets along with people and other dogs. Once Rocky's adopted, he'll be vaccinated and spayed/neutered.

     It's the "Dog Days" of summer here at Chez Prudence! Mom's feeling a little nostalgic and was going through my puppy pictures. I turned 9 this month and we're working on a give-away to celebrate my birthday, but in the meantime, here's a picture of me the day she brought me home!

Meet Skippy!

We have a soft spot in our hearts fur hound dogs, so this week we'd like you to meet Skippy!

     This handsome Basset Hound is looking for his furever home. He's 8 years old, neutered, house trained and is up to date on his shots. His current owner has to go into a nursing home, so Skippy needs a new place to call home. He gets along with everyone he meets and would be a great companion.

Barking About Backyard BBQ!

     Summer's here fur sure, and the warm weather means backyard pawties. Our friends at Petfinder.com have put together lots of information and tips to keep us safe while enjoying the festivities!

     Mom loves to grill outside, but while she's cooking, she knows it's better fur me to stay away from the grill. I don't mean to be naughty, but I'm a scent hound and the aroma keeps drawing me to the grill and that's not a good thing!
    So she makes sure that I'm secure and far enough from danger. If friends are over, it's my job to entertain them. That keeps me on my paws! If it's just us, I have to stay indoors until the grilling is done.

Too Hot Buddies!

Hi Pals!

     Hope that everyone enjoyed a safe and fun 4th of July! Now we're in the middle of another heatwave here in New Jersey! It's even too hot fur me to hang out on my coolaroo!

Even in the shade with my dish full of ice, mom says it's just too much fur a pup. 

  So we've been hanging out in the air-conditioning. Mom's watching the weeds in our garden grow, but I remind her that they're not going anywhere! Those weeds will get pulled once it cools down a bit, BOL!

  

   So to help her keep her mind off the yard and the heat, she did a leg on a doggie transport this weekend. I get stay home to mind the house, while she drove to pick up a few Daschunds, a chiweenie (a daschund/chihuahua mix) and 3 puppies! That's the biggest group she's had yet!

   

 Melissa picked up sweet Winnie, to take her to her furever home.

Tuesday's Tails!

Hiya buddies!
     It's my birthday today! So to kick off a week of celebration, I'm going to introduce you to a couple of Treeing Walker Coonhounds from Eleventh Hour Rescue in Rockaway, New Jersey. That's where mom found me! My wish is for someone to fall in love with these pups and give them a good home!

 Meet Rosie Anna! 

  Rosie Anna is 3 years old. She's blind in one eye, but that doesn't slow her down one bit! She loves attention and cuddles. She currently shares her foster  home four other pups, so she'd be a great addition to a home with other dogs. She doesn't get along with kitties 'though.

Meet Ginger!

  Ginger is a Coonhound mix, 1 - 2 years old. If you're in the area, you can stop by the adoption facility at the Petsmart store in Mount Olive, NJ. to meet her! The store is open 7 days a week.
