Howl-o-ween Is Almost Here!

Hi buddies!

Halloween is almost here pals, and our friends at The Uncommon Dog are sharing this cool infographic with our readers! I’m pretty lucky that I don’t get “spooked” too easily, but mom does have to make sure that any candy or treats are where this scent hound can’t get to them!

This year, the Barker Lounge's Costume Pawty has a Super Hero/Super Villain Theme. Mom's thinking of dressing me as the "Food Bandit", nothing tasty is safe from the Food Bandit, BOL! We'll let you know how this works out!

Barking About Backyard BBQ!

Summer's here fur sure, and the warm weather means backyard pawties. Our friends at Petfinder.com have put together lots of information and tips to keep us safe while enjoying the festivities!

Mom loves to grill outside, but while she's cooking, she knows it's better fur me to stay away from the grill. I don't mean to be naughty, but I'm a scent hound and the aroma keeps drawing me to the grill and that's not a good thing!
So she makes sure that I'm secure and far enough from danger. If friends are over, it's my job to entertain them. That keeps me on my paws! If it's just us, I have to stay indoors until the grilling is done.

Looking For Gandalf!

Hi buddies, Friends of my mom are staying in Santa Fe. Their well loved cat Gandalf got out of their home on the north side of Paseo de Prelate, off Old Taos Highway. They are heartbroken. He's a New York City kitty that never leaves the apartment. He's always in a harness when outside with his family. His people are frantic! Gandalf is out of his element there and is certainly scared. We'll be saying our pawprayers that he makes it home safely. If anyone sees him, please let us know. Take care pals and thanks fur stopping by! Thanks to BlogPaws Fur Sponsoring the Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop too!

Summertime & The Livin' Is Easy, We Hope!

 Hi Buddies!
Summertime is almost here buddies and we've already had a heatwave in the Northeast! I don't know about you, but even 'though I'm a coonhound from the south, I don't tolerate the heat very well. Mom makes sure I have lots of cool water and keeps my cool-a-roo in the shade when we're hanging out in my yard.

Over the next few weeks, we're going to post tips for keeping our furry friends happy and safe in the heat of the summer.

Although we're sure most pet parents realize how dangerous it is to leave us unattended in a car, we still need to remind people that either don't know any better or just aren't thinking! Sometimes we do mischievous things because we just don't know any better, and we'd like think that's what happens when people leave their best buddies in the car! Sure, maybe you think it's only going to take a few minutes while you run an errand, leaving your best pal in the car, but those minutes are crucial! Better to leave us home than to take any chances!
Thanks to Petfinder for the cool (get it, cool BOL!) infographic, explaining what to do if you see pets left in a parked car.
