BarkWorld Blast Baby!

Well buddies, I can report that mom's trip to this year's BarkWorld Social Media Expo was a blast!

We've (well, she does bring "flat Prudence" with her, BOL!) attended every previous BarkWorld but this time we went as an Ambassador for Rachael Ray's Nutrish®!

Mom loves Atlanta and loves seeing all her friends, new and old! It's so great to attend to be able to meet so many of our online friends in person (& furson too)!

Our pal @GeorgeTheDuck made a soft landing on @CarmaPoodale!

After the keynotes, the sessions and networking came the pawties! The highlight of the weekend was the Nutrish® Block Party!

Besides the wonderful food, the first 50 guest were able to paint a ceramic "nom" bowl fur their pet! What a great idea!

There were lots of Nutrish® samples for the guests to take home with them and
treats for the doggy guests too!

Everyone had a terrific time designing and painting their dishes. Mom was amazed at the talent in the room! Once finished, they'll be baked and shipped to their owners.

Before we forget,  here's a link fur a Nutrish® coupon pals!

Thanks fur stopping by buddies!

Now fur the record, this post is sponsored by Rachael Ray Nutrish®. All thoughts and opinions are our own.  As always, thank you for reading and supporting our sponsors!

BarkWorld Report, Day 2 & A Give Away!

Hi buddies!

Day two has come to a close at BarkWorld and so far it's been a blast. Among the many high points today was Victoria Stilwell's keynote. Most of you may know her from Animal Planet's "It's Me or the Dog" show. She's just as dynamic and funny as she appears on the show!

Victoria is genuinely dedicated to improving dogs' lives everywhere and we love her training techniques. She was very clear in her telling of why suppressing bad behavior with force doesn't solve the problem. Check out eHowPets on YouTube to see some of her training videos.

After her presentation, she graciously talked with her many fans, signing her new book, and answering questions!

Now the good news! Mom picked up an extra copy of "Train Your Dog Positively", signed by Victoria!

Thanks for stopping by!

Day One at BarkWorld Baby!

Hi Buddies!
Mom's made it to BarkWorld! Since it's far from our home, she had to take a plane. So I'm chilling with my crew at the Barker Lounge while she's having fun learning and networking!

After picking up #NipClub Barktender and DJ extraordinaire, @GeorgeTheDuck, it was off to the skies fur the flight to Atlanta!

Look who greeted mom and George at the hotel! #NipClub DJ @GizmoGeoDog!

Once settled into the hotel, it was time fur "Blogger Speed Dating with Brands" session. George watched mom's stuff as she networked!

Next was the Welcome Reception, featuring Norman, the scooter riding dog! There was lots of great music, noms and a pet photographer too!

The view from mom's room at the Westin!

Well, it's been a long day, mom's off to bed so she'll be ready fur the sessions tomorrow!

Thanks fur stopping by buddies!

Going To BarkWorld Buddies!

Mom's Going To BarkWorld!

We're heading to BarkWorld buddies! Of course by we, I mean mom and Flat me!
(What happens at BarkWorld, stays at BarkWorld, BOL!)

This is mom's 4th trip to BarkWorld, she's been going to BarkWorld Expo since the very beginning. Mom's learned a lot at these conferences over the years, but she still has a lot more to learn. And, she gets to catch up with her pals and make new friends too!
This year, it's even more special, as we're being sponsored by Rachael Ray's Nutrish® !
*apaws, apaws*

I've been eating Nutrish® fur a long time now. We love the fact that it's made from simple, wholesome ingredients, without any by-products, artificial flavors or artificial preservatives. I had tummy issues when I was a puppy, having had Parvo, so mom's very careful with what she feeds me. What's even more cool, the proceeds from Nutrish® go toward food, medical supplies and treatments for animals in need! Rachael's Rescue has raised over $4 million dollars for them so far!

Nutrish® is sponsoring a pawsome Block Pawty on Friday, with lots of noms and drinks fur pets and their people! The first 50 attendees will be able to paint their own ceramic bowl too! If you can't make it to BarkWorld, don't worry! We'll be tweeting, "instagramming" and posting FaceBook updates throughout the whole event so you won't miss out on the fun!
And once mom gets back, we'll be doing a re-cap of all the fun, including a special coupon offer fur Nutrish® too!
Thanks fur stopping by buddies!

Now fur the record, this post is sponsored by Rachael Ray Nutrish®. All thoughts and opinions are my own.  As always, thank you for reading and supporting our sponsors!

Sorry We've Been Missing In Action!

Sorry that we've been missing buddies! Mom had a blast at BarkWorld and is going to be posting about her adventures soon. It really was so much fun, with lots of information, pawties and meeting friends, both old and new.
(Flat Prudence and Panky shared the room with the fabulous @Niqqi!)

She made it home just before the airport closed here in New Jersey and luckily in time to pick me up from the Barker Lounge. Some awful guest named "Sandy" blew in and really messed up the northeast. We're very blessed and grateful that everyone here is safe. No structural damage besides half our fence blowing over. Still no power at home, but we've been told that it would be back by Friday (oh boy!). Her office is located in the Financial District of NYC, so she hasn't been able to get to work 'til yesterday. *Shaking head*, no heat there either...
But after seeing and hearing about the devastation around the tri-state area, we're determined not to complain about the power. We're very happy that we have a roof over our heads and everyone is safe (if just a bit chilly, BOL!).
More to follow pals, we have a lot to catch up with! Thanks fur stopping by!

#btc4a Buddies!

This couldn't be any easier buddies!
For every post and every tweet, Petco will donate $1 to support rescue pets, those still waiting for their forever homes.

Just Tweet this now through Saturday, October 27 at 11:00 AM (EST):

Rescue pets receive $1 from @Petco at @BarkWorldExpo for each #BTC4A tweet from Oct 22-27! Learn more: http://ht.ly/eEls7

If you're a blogger, write a post about the campaign and join the Blog Hop. Be sure to use the hashtag $btc4a in your blog title. And if you don't have a blog, just tweet! As mom likes to say, easy peasey pals!
Rescue organizations need all the financial help they can get to continue to do the great work for animals. Medical expenses, food, shelter, transportation all cost and these costs keep going up.
BarkWorld attendees will be able to nominate their favorite no-kill 501(c)3 rescue or shelter at the Petco booth through Friday, October 26. The winners will be announced during BarkWorld’s Petco session on Saturday, October 27! Mom's already decided to nominate Eleventh Hour Rescue, they're the wonderful people that rescued me!

Mom's thrilled to be able to go to BarkWorld, but you don't need to attend to take part. Just tweet or post (or both) and help raise $5,000 for the selected shelter or rescue!

Thanks for stopping by buddies! And a big thank you to BarkWorld and their Social Good Partners!

Rootin' Tootin' Tuesday!

Mom's getting pretty psyched about her upcoming trip to BarkWorld! She's been making her lists (she's a bit of a kook about lists):
  • Registration, check!
  • Flight arranged, check!
  • Hotel plans, check!
She's downloaded the BW Mobile App fur both her ipad and iphone so she'll be able to keep up with the sessions and speakers!
One of the sessions on her list that she's looking forward to is the Pet Food Network All Stars Kim Clune and Amy Burkert. They will be doing cooking demos, making healthy treats fur dogs and kitties, inspired by the Honest Kitchen. Mom makes a lot of my treats, so she's pretty psyched about this! Other sessions include Digital Scrapbooking, Pet CPR & Emergency Preparedness. There's so much to learn , and we won't even mention the Swag!

And for all of her technical questions, the BarkWorld Genious Squad will be there! Yes, she has a list of questions too! *shaking head*

But one of the things that she's most excited about is......

She's thrilled that the kitties will be represented, barooo!

The very best part of BarkWorld is meeting so many of our on-line buddies, both old and new.

Here I am, hanging with the Shibbering Cheetos and the Hookalopes after the sessions at my first BarkWorld Expo in 2010! Their fans get a little crazy, but who can blame them, BOL!

Thanks fur stopping by buddies!

Getting Ready Fur BarkWorld 2012!

Hi pals, Mom's getting pretty psyched about BarkWorld this year! The first Social Media Conference she ever attended was the BarkWorld Expo in 2010. She still can't believe that she managed to go, since she's basically pretty shy and back then, wasn't so thrilled with flying… Boy she's come a long way! I was well represented by my doppleganger, "Pru On A Stick", since I don't fly, BOL!
(Yep, here I am hanging with the Shibberin' Cheetos and the Hookalopes!) She was so glad that she went. She was able to meet so many of our Twitter pals fur the first time. Attending the sessions taught her a lot too! Last year's BarkWorld was even better! There was so much more for her to learn and she was able to make some great connections with possible sponsors. She had such a good time with her online pals too, both the humans and the pets!
Well this year, BarkWorld is going to be a blast! The line up of speakers is amazing. Among the keynote speakers: Brent Herd, the Southeast Director of Twitter, Inc. (Twitter baby!), Matt Meeker, co-founder of Meetup.com, Andy Nibley, the writer/director of the HBO Documentary "Madonna of the Mills", and Ed Sayres , the CEO of the ASPCA. The sessions are pretty impressive too! So many great choices! Social Petworking, Dog Yoga, Digital Scrapbooking, the list goes on! Then the fun stuff! A "Howl-oween" Pawty!, sponsored by the Atlanta Dog Spa & Petco. Themed Block Pawties and Prize Giveaways! One of the latest exhibitors to be added to the list is The Barktender's Guide"! Now many of you know that I often barktend at Twitter Pawpawties and at #NipClub so we're very excited to see this!
The BarkWorld Expo opens on Thursday October 25 and runs through Saturday October 27 at the Westin Buckhead in Atlanta, Georgia. Mom hopes that she'll see you in Atlanta at BarkWorld!

Anderson Cooper!

Well, as some people would say, the cat's out of the bag!
A couple of weeks ago, mom was sent on a mission from BarkWorld Expo. She and Neely (@theGivingPaw) were given tickets to see the Anderson Cooper Show about Extreme Pets.
The guests included Anais Hayden, with her vegan dyed dogs (looking fabulous!),
(Photo from www.andersoncooper.com)
John Fulton from "Must Love Cats" and Henry "Lizardlover" via satellite with his carefully posed lizards.
(Photo from www.andersoncooper.com)
There was a quick presentation of jewelry made from cat hair, made by Flora Davis, which was very interesting. Mom's seen some of this sort of thing on Etsy. I hope she's not getting any ideas *shaking head*!
There were lots of video clips. She was thrilled to see Jasmine and highlights from Steadman's wedding at BarkWorld Expo last year!
Beyonce, the world's smallest puppy made an appearance also. This tiny pup is so lucky. Her mom was due to be euthanized, but was rescued by the Grace Foundation. When the puppies were born, tiny Beyonce almost didn't make it. Thanks to the humans, she's thriving and will be a terrific spokesdog for rescuing dogs all over!
(Photo from www.andersoncooper.com)
I think I need to be a guest on the next "Extreme Pets" on Anderson's show. I'd fit right in!
(Photo from www.andersoncooper.com, Prudence was photoshopped onto the set)
Thanks fur visiting buddies, and thanks to BarkWorld Expo! Barooooo!

The Pet Blogger Challenge!

Thanks Amy of Go Pet Friendly and Edie of Will My Dog Hate Me for hosting the Pet Blogger Challenge! This is our first year of blogging, so I'll turn the keyboard over to mom and have her answer all your questions!
Thanks Prudence, so here we go with our answers!

1. When did you begin your blog?
June 5th, 2011, after my usual procrastination.... I finally dove in! I had really wanted to start a personal blog dealing with my many hobbies and work a while back but couldn't find my "voice" . It's much easier to write for Prudence, she's an open book.

2. What was your original purpose for starting a blog?
To share Prudence's adventures, as I imagine her seeing them through her eyes. I'd like to also introduce our kitties to our readers over time. We had been tweeting for a while (@tildatoo) and Prudence sometimes needs more than 140 characters to express herself.

3. Is your current purpose the same?
Currently, yes, although I'm exploring ways of growing out. Letting Prudence be a spokesdog for rescued dogs perhaps.

If so, how do you feel you’ve met your goals?
The fact that we continue to post and our readership is growing slowly, but surely.

4. Do you blog on a schedule or as the spirit moves you?
I try to post three times a week, although I think it would help if I kept to a structured schedule.

If the latter, do you worry about… well, whatever you might worry about (e.g. losing traffic, losing momentum)?
What I worry about is losing momentum on my part. I often think I have a touch of Attention Deficit... oooh, somthing shiney..... Sorry.

5. Are you generating income from your blog?
I have an ad, but I need to draw more traffic to order to make more than a few cents. It's worth it to me as long as it's fun. And I enjoy it.

6. What do you like most about blogging in general and your blog in particular?
I love the community! Seldom does a post not get a comment. There is such great support among fellow pet bloggers and the anipals of Twitter. I was able to attend BlogPaws and BarkWorld Expo in 2011 and loved meeting online twitter and blogging friends in person.
Blogging has also shown me the need to improve my own photography and writing skills, so it's a challenge, but one I enjoy.

7. What do you like least?
I can't think of anything, perhaps my own disappointment if I miss a Saturday Pet Blog Hop.

8. How do you see your blog changing/growing in 2012?
I hope to post more and have better photos. Perhaps include more "Life With a Coonhound and Crazy Cats Tips"!

BarkWorld Expo, Day 2

Mom's away at a Social Media Conference this weekend, The BarkWorld Expo. I made her promise to post from the "field", since I'm staying with my crew at the Barker Lounge!
She's having a blast in Atlanta, learning so much plus seeing old friends and meeting so many of our Twitter pals' parents and staff. (Now if she can only figure out how to upload photos from iPad to blog, I'd be a happy hound!)
She promises to post more later today buddies, so see you later, barrroooooo!

(Almost) Wordless Wednesday

Mom's leaving for BarkWorld Expo tomorrow, so I'll be hanging with my crew at the Lounge. She's gonna miss this face, barooooo!
