Labor Day Weekend!

Well buddies, I guess this is the last "official" weekend for Summer 2012, but we're not letting go of summertime yet!

Last week mom visited friends that live in Northwestern New Jersey, lake country! This is the view from their yard! Just look at that lake. And there was a swan family! She's promised that next time I could come along. I can't wait to be on the boat (I think!).

This is Mr. Boots, he lives there too! What a lucky kitty to be able to go in and out as he pleases, as long as someone opens the door! Now it's time fur me to chill in my yard, I love it even 'tho it doesn't have a lake, barooo!

What A Week!

Hi Buddies! Happy belated St. Patrick's Day to all everyone! Mom really intended to get my post up sooner, but it's been a busy week here at Prudie's Place.
Tuesday mom came home to find our front door's glass broken, she freaked out! Thankfully I was home and scared the b*****d person away. Nobody got in, thanks to my fierce barking abilities, but mom was pretty upset. So the police came. Of course the officer was very impressed by me, bol! He said I was a hero, can you believe that? What a great judge of character!
Then she needed to get the door fixed so I wouldn't get hurt by the broken glass and nobody can get in. I'm a little surprised those porch kitties didn't do more to protect us, but I digress.
On top of that, it's St. Patrick's Day. Mom is just a little involved with an Irish group, so this whole month keeps her busy. There's a flag raising, parades, lunches *sigh*, I just wish she could stay home with me (or at least take me to lunch)!

Spring is in the Air!

We've been enjoying a milder than usual winter here in the Northeast. Not that we're complaining, but after last year's almost endless winter, this is pretty welcome!
The Snowdrop flowers on our front yard are blooming, usually they're poking up through a few inches of snow!

Earlier this week, mom went to the Martha Stewart show (again), I'm just very glad that she didn't take me this time. Once is enough fur this pup! She enjoyed the taping and brought home a nice assortment of goodies from the show.

Then on her way back to work, she walked through the Flower District, and couldn't resist taking a few pictures of the beautiful flowers! I just wish that I was there to sniff them, I'm sure they smelled very interesting!

Training Day!

Hiya buddies!
We all know how important good training is, so I'm going to just run over the hightlights of a properly trained mom or dad!

1. Remember to reward any good behavior with the paw! Let them know that you appreciate all that they're learning to do fur you!
2. In keeping with the paw theme, when they sit down to relax, remind them with your paw that it's time fur you! You've waited all day fur them to sit and relax and they need to remember to play with you now!
3. During dinner, use the paw to remind them that you're entitled to a taste (or 2) of the people's foods. Never works fur me, but it's worth a try buddies!

4. When they're getting ready fur work during the week is a great time to lay out the guilt trip... works fur me all the time! Unless it's a Barker Lounge Day, there's always a few extra treats in it fur me!
5. Remind your person what side of the bed is yours, mine is usually the middle!
