Tuesday's Tails!

We couldn't resist sharing these two! They look so much like our Wren and Sparrow! Here's what the people at the Newark Humane Society have to say about them:
"Aladdin and Jasmine are looking for a nice, quiet home together. These sweeties have been waiting for a family for awhile now. Understandably, they are a little confused about why they are living in the shelter after so many years in a home. Do you have some extra room in your heart and home for this laid-back pair? At 6 and 8 years old, they have many, many, many great years filled with love to share with you."
We love the wonderful photos, taken by Stacey Gammon of Stacey Gammon Pet Photography, of the adoptable dogs and cats on the Newark Humane Society's Petfinder pages, including this one.

Aladdin and Jasmine, along with many other wonderful pets are available for adoption at the Associated Humane Societies in Newark, New Jersey. All pets at the shelter are up to date on their shots and will be altered and micro-chipped once they've been adopted.
Please visit their website or give the shelter a call at 973-824-7080.

The Society offers free DVDs with all cat and dog adoptions at no charge. $300 worth of coupons are offered to each new dog parent and $100 worth of coupons for each new cat parent too!

The Tuesday's Tails Blog hop features shelter pets, all waiting for their forever homes. Please consider featuring a cat, dog or any pet at your local shelter on your blog and join the hop! Sharing these friends will certainly improve their chances of being adopted!

Tuesday's Tails!

Hi buddies!
Well, once again we're late, but we can't forget our buddies out there, looking for their forever homes!

This week we'd like to introduce you to Bonnie Hound!

Bonnie is currently being fostered by the good people at Eleventh Hour Rescue, in New Jersey!

Like me, Bonnie is a Treeing Walker Coonhound! She's 2 years old and currently in a foster home. Housetrained, spayed and up to date with all her shots, she's ready for her new family! Her foster says that Bonnie is good with other dogs, walks beautifully on a leash, and loves kids!

For more information on Bonnie, please visit her page on Petfinder or visit the Eleventh Hour website to fill out an application!

Thankful Thursday!

Hi Buddies!

We've said it before, but mom feels we need to say it again! We're so very thankful for our friends at

and PAWS (Pound Animal Welfare Society)

For all their help and advice in placing the Spice Kitties!

We're very thankful to everyone that responded to mom's cry for help on Face Book and Twitter, seeking assistance in placing these kitties. Hopefully the person that left them at our gate has taken care of their mother and she's spayed now.

Of course we're thankful everyday for the internet, giving us the ability to connect with all of our friends, seek advice and find solutions! Otherwise, this hound would be up to her ears in kitties!
Baroooooo!

Thank you PepiSmart Dog fur hosting the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop
and thank you friends fur stopping by!

Wordless Wednesday (Almost)!

The Spice Kittens are getting cozy in their new home. Now named Coriander and Sassafras (Cori and Sassy), it looks like they hit the jackpot!
Thanks PAWS and A Purrfect World for all your help. Thank you Petco in Verona, NJ for hosting the adoption days too!
Mom's considering fostering more in the near future 'though!
What's this coonhound going to do?

Thanks for stopping by buddies!

Tuesday's Tails!

Hi buddies!
Thanks for stopping by! For this week's Tuesday's Tails, we're featuring a couple of cuties currently being taken care of by PAWS, Pound Animal Welfare Society, in Montclair, NJ. We're very grateful for all the help that their volunteers and Val from A Purrfect World gave to us to help place the Spice Kitties! Thanks to them, the Spice Kittens have found their forever families! Baroooo!

So please meet Dunkin!

Dunkin is a handsome mostly black lab mix, about 6 to 7 years old and weighs about 45 - 50 pounds. His owner had to give this sweet boy up due to her own health issues. He shared his previous home peacefully with dogs of many sizes. He’s very healthy and needs a foster as soon as possible, better yet, a forever home.

Next, meet Buttercup! Just look at those eyes!

Beautiful 2-year-old Buttercup was pulled from a high-kill shelter earlier this year, and has been working with expert trainer Sarah of Sleepydog Training regularly. Sarah loves Buttercup and feels she's very responsive to training and is doing very well.

Both of these cuties are up to date on their shots, housebroken and are spayed/neutered.If you would like more information on Dunkin, Buttercup or any of the other wonderful adoptable pets, please contact PAWS via email pawsanimalshelter@verizon.net or stop by their site to fill out an application.

Thankful Thursday!

Hi buddies!

You may have read about the kittens left outside our gate a few weeks ago. Mom frantically reached out to rescue and shelters in our area, hoping to find them a home or a foster. Unfortunately no one had room for these sweeties!

But happily, someone from A Purrfect World got in touch with mom and gave her some very good advice. The kittens had their first "wellness" visit at People For Animals and were started on their vaccines. Next, mom took them to the Verona, NJ Petco for an Adoption event. One of the lucky kittens found her new home that day!

So this week, we're very thankful for A Purrfect World and Pound Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) in Montclair fur doing all that they can to help us find new homes for Spice Kittens!

If you're in the area, PAWS is having a Holiday Bazaar & Tricky Tray on November 16th!

If you're not in the area but would like to support the great work that PAWS does for pets, they're having a Yankee Candle Fundraiser! Just in time for the holidays!
Just visit Yankee Candle and in the Group Number field enter: 990056168 to start shopping! The PAWS Animal Shelter's name will appear on the next page, so you can be sure that's who will be benefitting!

Thanks for stopping by buddies!

Tuesday's Tails!

Hi buddies!

We would love to introduce you to the cutest couple of pups this week! Both are located at the Pound Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) in Montclair, NJ.
Many years ago mom adopted her Moxie from PAWS!

Here's Harmony!

Harmony was pulled from a local high risk shelter by the good people at PAWS. She's 3 years old, spayed and up to date with her shots and vetting. She gets along with all of the PAWS dogs and is a favorite there!

And please meet Glenda!

OMD! Just look at that sweet face!

Thankfully, PAWS was able to pull Glenda from a high kill facility just in the nick of time! She's about 1 year old and weighs 50 pounds. Glenda is also spayed and fully vetted. She's doing very well in a foster home, playing nicely with three other dogs.

Please stop by the PAWS website for more information about Harmony and Glenda or to see the other wonderful dogs and cats that are available!

Tuesday's Tails, A Day Late!

Hi Buddies!

Life here at Chez Prudence has been crazier than normal, and this time it's not MY fault! That's right pals!
We're a day late with our Tuesday's Tails. But after you've met our adoptable kitties MaiTai and Julep, please read on *shaking coonhound head*.

The Tuesday's Tails Blog hop features shelter pets, all waiting for their forever homes. Please consider featuring a cat, dog or any pet at your local shelter on your blog and join the hop! Sharing these friends will certainly improve their chances of being adopted!
Thanks Dogs 'N Pawz for hosting the hop, in doing so, honoring Princess Phe!

This week we'd like to introduce you to MaiTai and Julip!

These cuties arrived at the shelter at about 2 months old. Because they didn't have any human contact before then, they were very frightened of people. They went into foster care and received a lot of attention so now they're less afraid, but still cautious.
From their Petfinder page: Mai Tai and Julep are "TOTALLY devoted to each other; they cuddle together constantly and they especially enjoy lounging in the hammock in their kitty crate. While it might be a lot to ask of a prospective adopter, these girls MUST be adopted together. And they need to be adopted by someone with a great deal of patience and prior experience with shy cats. If someone had a home office or a workshop where these two cats could cohabit without having a lot of interaction expected of them at first, that would be ideal.
"Julep, the more trusting of the two, is a lovely soft gray tabby. Her sister MaiTai is what we call a Tabico - a tabby with orange running through her coat."
They're both spayed and up to date with their shots. For more information on MaiTai and Julep, email Friends of Linden's Animals at folasinfo@gmail.com or visit the Friends Of Linden Animals website.

Now for what's happening at my house!

Yesterday morning I was greeted by three kittens at my side door as I was about to go out! These guys wanted to get into my house and they weren't afraid of me at all! Mom got me back inside so she could see who these "visitors" were....
Well, she found a cardboard box at the gate to our yard with a plastic container of food. Looks like someone decided we needed even more kitties! Barooooo! I'm out numbered already here!

Mom gathered them up and put them all into one of pet carriers and gave them some water. She posted to FaceBook and sent tweets. She contacted a few rescues and messaged others on FaceBook. We haven't been able to place them yet, but thankfully got lots of great information. Our twitter friends did a lot of retweeting fur us also. So mom's going to be busy reaching out to rescues in our area. The few that she heard  back from are full, so please keep your paws crossed!

Thanks fur stopping by pals!

Tuesday's Tails!

Hi Buddies!

The Tuesday's Tails Blog hop features shelter pets, all waiting for their forever homes. Please consider featuring a cat, dog or any pet at your local shelter on your blog and join the hop! Sharing these friends will certainly improve their chances of being adopted!
Thanks Carma Poodale for hosting this week's hop!

First the good news! Charlotte, the Coonhound we featured in last week's blog hop has found her furever family! Baroooo!

So, here's hoping that this week all of the pets on the Tuesday's Tails Hop have the same good luck!

This week we'd like you to meet Sonny, as sweet coonhound/lab mix, being fostered by Homeless Hearts Dog Rescue in Somerset, NJ.

Quoting from Sonny's page:
"Poor, sweet Sonny really needs a break--he’s had a rough life.  Sonny weighs 61 lbs and is a lab/coonhound mix.  His 90 year old owner has just gone into a nursing home with an infected, inoperable hole in his heart. Completely overwhelmed by his situation, he planned to just put sweet Sonny down but, thankfully, a kind-hearted neighbor couldn’t see that happen and took him into temporary foster care with her and her two dogs in Manhattan.
"Here is Sonny’s story:  Poor Sonny was shot as a baby and left on the side of the road in Georgia. He had to have his left rear leg amputated as a result of the gun-shot wound and was then adopted by his 90 year old owner as a pup.  Although he is missing a rear leg, that doesn't slow him down and he gets around just fine.  Don’t mistake Sonny’s 3-legged stature for special-needs--he’s just special!
"According to his vet and medical records, Sonny is very healthy. He’s 5 - 7 years old, neutered, housebroken and up to date on his shots."

Sonny gets along with other dogs and people. His foster says that he's loves long walks and is very relaxed in her apartment.
So, if you have room in your heart and home for this sweetheart, please email the Homeless Hearts Dog Rescue at Gone2TheDawgz@yahoo.com and request an application for adoption.

Tuesday's Tails!

Hi Buddies!

The Tuesday's Tails Blog hop features shelter pets, all waiting for their forever home. Feature a cat, dog or any pet at your local shelter on your blog and join the hop! Sharing these friends will certainly improve their chances of being adopted! Thanks Dogs 'N Pawz for hosting!

First we have some good news. Remember Dexter, the cute beagle we featured last week? The Animal Alliance of New Jersey pulled him from the shelter and he'll be fostered until he finds his new home. Yay fur Dexter!

We hope someone falls in love with Heidi, a beautiful Redbone Coonhound!

Just look at that sweet face! Since mom found me at Eleventh Hour Rescue, she has a soft spot in her heart fur coonhounds!

*psst, look closely. See Heidi's back foot on her friend's foot? That's what I do to mom all the time!*

Here's Heidi's information from her Petfinder.com page:
"Heidi is a purebred Redbone, and a dog that is highly desired in the South for their hunting ability, and their love of people.  If you look up Redbones online, it will tell you the following.  Redbones make excellent family pets, are even tempered, love their owners and families, will shower their families with kisses, get along great with children, other dogs, love the water, and love to run and hike.
"Heidi is no exception to this, and is a beautiful dog who is around 3-4 years old, and weighs around 65 pounds.  Heidi would love a fenced in yard, or a family that likes to go for walks, hikes, or to the dog park.  Although she loves the outdoors, she also loves to find a spot on your sofa and just snuggle.  Redbones make wonderful watch dogs, and will watch over your family with devotion."

We're hoping someone falls in love with Heidi, and gives her the furever home she needs! Please stop by her page on Petfinder to read more about her. You can contact Eleventh Hour Rescue via email at EleventhHrRescue@aol.com or give them a call at 973-664-0865.

  Thanks fur stopping by!

Tuesday's Tails!

 Hiya Buddies!
The Tuesday's Tails Blog Hop, sponsored by Dogs 'N Pawz, features shelter animals that are just waiting for their forever homes. Find a cat, dog, rabbit, etc. at your local animal shelter or rescue and introduce them to your readers by way of this Blog Hop!

This week we'd like you to meet Rocky!

The shelter believes that he is a mix of maybe Border Collie/Australian Shepherd/Boxer/Corgi. He was found as a stray in Union, NJ, and now he's looking for his new home.  Rocky is believed to be about 1 year old.  According to his bio, he sounds a lot like me "very sweet, energetic and playful"! He walks well on a leash and gets along with people and other dogs. Once Rocky's adopted, he'll be vaccinated and spayed/neutered.

Please email Union Township Shelter at animalshelter@uniontownship.com for more information and pictures or give them a call at 908-851-5230.

Shelter hours, adoption fee information and directions can be found on the shelter's website.

Thank you Dogs 'N Pawz for hosting the Blog Hop!

Tuesday's Tails!

Hi buddies!
For this week's Tuesday's Tails, we'd like you to meet a few older kitties, that would just love to spend the rest of their lives in a loving home.

Here's Calypso!

Just look at that face! According to Friends of Linden Animals "Calypso is a beautiful tortie girl with lots of cattitude. She is lovable and totally enjoys being petted but does not like to be held or handled for long periods of time. Calypso prefers to do things her way and on her terms (a typical tortie trait). For this reason she would not be a good choice for a family with small children. She likes to play and enjoys napping in her hammock afterwards."

Next we have Stella!
Stella is a real beauty, with copper colored eyes! She's very feisty (look at that face!) and gets along well with other cats but she wouldn't be good for a family with children.

Now, meet Tracey!

We couldn't leave out Tracey, a sweet black kitty with beautiful eyes! Mom says she looks a lot like our Sparrow!
They've all been spayed and are up to date on their routine shots. These kitties and many more,  can be seen at the shelter during daily adoption hours. If you are interested in adopting any of them, or for more information, please visit the Friends of Linden Animal Shelter's site to fill out the online application or contact the Friends of Linden Animal Shelter at folasinfo@gmail.com

Thanks to Dogs 'n Pawz fur sponsoring the Tuesday's Tails Blog Hop and thank you fur stopping by!

Local Rescue Group!

We're happy to be a part of the Tuesdays Tails Blog Hop! Every week, we'll be posting about a pet in a local shelter or rescue that's waiting for a furever home.

Normally we like to write about Eleventh Hour Rescue, where mom found me. But while doing a little research for our post, we found a new rescue group that's just getting started here, a little closer to home that could use some publicity. So we thought that it would be good to give New Hope Pet Rescue a little buzz.
Since we have so many kitties in our area needing homes, we're going to feature an adoptable cat this week!

Meet Katie, a cute Torbie mix, from the streets of New York City! She's very affectionate and would love a family to call her own. Katie is spayed and up to date on her shots.

(photos from New Hope Pet Rescue)

Here's the link to Katie's Petfinder page to learn more about her and perhaps file an application for adoption.  If you're unable to adopt or foster Katie, please consider a donation to New Hope Pet Rescue to help them continue to do the great work that they do. They are an all volunteer group, so all donations go to the care of the animals.

Thanks fur stopping by buddies!
